1. Purpose

This policy applies to all employees, drivers, contractors, customers, and any other stakeholders involved with Apple Taxis. It applies to all aspects of employment and service delivery, including recruitment, training, pay, working conditions, and treatment of customers.

Management: The management team is responsible for implementing this policy, ensuring compliance, and taking action to address any breaches. 

Employees and Drivers: All employees and drivers are required to comply with this policy, treating colleagues, customers, and members of the public with respect and dignity. 

Training: Apple Taxis will provide regular training and guidance to ensure that all staff understand their responsibilities regarding equality and diversity. 

5. Equal Opportunities in Recruitment 

Decisions about recruitment, promotion, and training will be made solely based on an individual's ability, qualifications, and suitability for the role. We aim to: Advertise job vacancies in ways that reach diverse groups, use inclusive language in job descriptions and advertisements, Provide reasonable adjustments for applicants with disabilities. 

6. Preventing Discrimination, Harassment, and Victimisation 

Apple Taxis has a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, and victimisation. Any incidents will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Discriminatory behaviour, including bullying and harassment, may lead to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Examples of unacceptable behaviour include: 

Making offensive or derogatory comments or jokes, treating someone unfairly because of a protected characteristic, Displaying offensive images or literature.

Apple Taxis will actively promote diversity through: 

Encouraging an open and inclusive culture where diversity is valued. 

Celebrating cultural events and awareness days. 

8. Complaints and Grievances 

Employees or drivers who believe they have been discriminated against, harassed, or victimized are encouraged to raise their concerns through Apple Taxis' grievance procedure. All complaints will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly. 

9. Monitoring and Review 

Apple Taxis will monitor the effectiveness of this policy through regular reviews and feedback from employees, drivers, and customers. The policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and up to date with any changes in legislation.
