Introduction: At Apple Central Taxis (SW) Limited, we prioritise the safety and comfort of all passengers and drivers. This policy outlines the guidelines for transporting pets in our taxis, ensuring a seamless experience for both pet owners and other passengers.
Policy Statement:
Pets may be transported in our vehicles under specific conditions to uphold the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.
This policy excludes assistance dogs as per The Taxis and Private Hire Vehicles (Disabled Persons) Act 2022, which amends the Equality Act 2010. Assistance dogs are permitted to travel in the taxi alongside their owners without the need for a crate or basket.
The refusal to carry an assistance or disability pet without a valid exemption certificate from the local licensing authority may lead to the loss of your badge and removal from the circuit indefinitely. Refusals will be reported to the drivers licensing authority.
All pet-friendly journeys are excluded from our refund policy if the passenger fails to mention they have a pet at the time of booking. It is imperative for passengers to disclose the presence of a pet during the booking process to avoid any discrepancies in the refund policy.
Drivers reserve the right to refuse transportation of pets if they believe it may jeopardise the safety of other passengers, the driver, or the pet itself. If a driver declines transportation of a pet, they must provide a valid reason to the passenger and contact with the operator to arrange alternative transport.
Pet owners are accountable for any cleaning or damage caused by their pets during the journey. Additional charges may apply for cleaning or repairs as necessary. (Maximum soilage charge of £100.00 applies)
Passengers are required to inform the taxi dispatcher at the time of booking if they intend to travel with a pet. This enables us to dispatch a suitable vehicle for the journey and ensures a smooth and hassle-free experience for all parties involved.
